Thank you for visiting our public engagement website.  Callanish Homes (Bridgend) Ltd are preparing proposals for the re-development of land to the east of Auldhill Road in Bridgend.   This is the first stage in the development process and will look at the strengths, constraints and opportunities of the site to accommodate residential development along with landscaping and associated infrastructure.

Over the past few months the design team have undertaken a range of surveys and site investigations, some of which are still ongoing – our consultation at this early stage is to provide an overview of information gathered, to seek your input as to how you would like to see the design evolve and to provide outline proposals for discussion and comment.

We are keen to engage and hear your views and ideas as part of this process.  

In accordance with the Scottish Government guidance, this engagement event will take the form of a live and interactive web-based consultation.

We will be live between 2pm and 6pm to receive your feedback and answer your questions. Please use the chat functionality that will be available during this time to speak with a project team member. You may need to disable any ad blockers.

Your views, ideas and local knowledge are invaluable to us, and we welcome your feedback and any other comments you would like to make by downloading the feedback form below and returning it by email or post.

Persons who wish to ask further questions following the event should do so no later than Friday 16th December 2022, preferably by email to [email protected] or post at: 58 Dean Path, Edinburgh EH4 3AU.

The deadline for submitting feedback regarding the proposals will be Friday 16th December 2022. If you are aware of someone who does not have internet access and is looking for hard copies of the consultation boards and feedback form, if you can provide us with their name and address we can send this onto them following the event. Alternatively, we can be contacted as above.

What happens next

As set out above, your input will help shape our proposals for the design and master planning of the area, alongside the results from our additional survey investigations, discussions with West Lothian Council and other Statutory consultees. The Proposal will form the basis of an eventual application for Planning Permission and engagement at this early stage is important to ensure we understand everyone’s views from the outset.

Currently it is proposed to submit an application to West Lothian Council in Q1 2023.

The project team will consider all feedback gathered during this consultation event as the proposals develop. A report will be prepared on the consultation exercise (called a Pre-Application Consultation report or ‘PAC’ report) which will be provided to West Lothian Council as part of the submission of any subsequent Planning Application.

Please note any feedback that is provided at this stage is to Callanish Homes/Stefano Smith Planning and will not constitute a formal representation to West Lothian Council. Once an application has been submitted you will have an opportunity to provide formal feedback to West Lothian Council on the proposed development.
